Try Me I’m Yours – Open Piano Parlor

Prior to the Television, family entertainment was the Piano. Pianos could be found in a large percentage of homes. Usually a family member would perform for the rest of the family, or better yet, families gathered around the piano to sing songs. “Try Me I’m Yours” is our attempt of grasp that lost human interaction. This event is hosted by local music educator Krista Freelove. On the last First Friday Krista and Chris pushed a piano up and down Telegraph Ave. And with surprise, so many individuals were able to dig up piano licks that had been buried deep in their subconscious. For those who touched it, it was a memorable night. Whether you’ve memorized Chopin’s Nocturne, Improvise like Cecil Taylor, play Honky Tonk, or Improvise Tonal Clouds this is a No Judgement Zone. We just want to hear the vibrations of strings being hammered upon. Come join us for a night of piano music!
