Clothing & Costume Swap at The Uptown

Clothing Swap time!

Bring all your unwanted in good condition clothing and costumes!

Shoes, jewelry, and accessories are okay to bring.

Please do not bring used underwear or socks. Costume lingerie is acceptable.

All genders welcome! However, for simplicity’s (and clothing fit’s) sake, clothing will be separated into “men’s” and “women’s”.

Anything left over will be donated to Out of the Closet.

EVENT ACCESSIBILITY:

* Public Transportation and Street Parking *

– BART: The Uptown is 0.1 miles from 19th Street BART, and the pavement between BART and the venue is mostly flat. If folks are interested in finding out which buses are closest, please let me know and we can do our best to figure that out

– PARKING: The Uptown is a bar located on a rather busy stretch of Telegraph Avenue– street parking is available, but it may be difficult to find a nearby spot close to the event time (which is a little after rush hour)

* Mobility *

– STAIRS: This event will be held upstairs in the mezzanine. Walking up stairs is required to access the event area. Sorry but there is no elevator.

– GETTING INTO THE VENUE & EVENT AREA: The entrance to the bar has a low ramp and is wheelchair accessible. Though again, the event space is located upstairs.

– BATHROOMS: There are three bathrooms at the event. They are designated “Gender Neutral”, “Men” (urinals only), and “Women” bathrooms. “Women” and “Gender Neutral” are both wheelchair accessible.

* Seating *

– General seating is available downstairs near the bar area.

* Light & Sound *

– LIGHTS: There will be no bright or flashing lights during the event

– SOUND: Music will be playing.

* Scent and Chemical Sensitivities *
We encourage people to refrain from wearing scented products to the event. In terms of the venue, this event takes place in a bar, and unfortunately we do not have control about what products are used.
