Women to the Front will feature live music performances, a B2B DJ set, art pop up, and raffle with prizes donated by local womxn owned businesses. This event is not only a celebration of talented women in the Bay Area but a call to action to challenge the gender disparity within the music community and beyond. Our main goal with this event is to gather like-minded organizations, individuals and artists under the same roof to foster awareness, collaboration, and inspiration.

About Gala
Gala (pronounced: GAH-LAH) is an acoustic indie folk-pop trio based in Oakland, CA with Roots in Chile, Guam, & the Philippines. Their music deals with themes of migration, justice, heartache, and resilience. Gala’s sound is magnetic, tender, and transportive often inspired by a long tradition of Chilean and South American folkloric music. Gala takes its name from a beloved furry friend who takes her name from Salvador Dalí’s muse.
About Baycoin Beats
Baycoin Beats is a new group, brought together by drummer JaNeka Jackson, also known as “Jae Stix” of Richmond, Ca. To complete the band, we have Benny Martinez, a phenomenal bass/guitar player of Vallejo Ca, and amazing keyboardist Richelle Scales of Winston Salem, NC. Each individual musician in Baycoin Beats sets a high standard of professionalism, work ethic and are big influences in the Bay Area music scene. Baycoin Beats has graced many stages, concerts, private and corporate events. They have also been featured behind many Indie artists from the Bay Area and beyond. As of today, you can check out BayCoin Beats has a residency at Copyright Cocktail Lounge in San Francisco every first Sunday of the month for its SF R&B Jam a.k.a Date Night. This is just one of the many E.T.G underground events hosted by Clarisse LaGrone and Jae Jackson, the founders of Elevated Talent Group.
About CHHOTI MAA
Chhoti Maa is a multidisciplinary cultural producer. She has self-released 6 projects (2 studio albums, 4 eps) in her 12 years as a MC, singer & producer. Her music is rooted in hip hop, neufolk and Mexican oral tradition, specifically her Grandma’s storytelling magic. As part of the post-NAFTA diaspora, Chhoti Maa was formed by her migrant experience. Since 2007, Chhoti has performed, collaborated and taught in Puerto Rico, China, US, Cuba, Spain, Qatar, U.A.E., Ghana, Sweden, Canada, Peru, Mexico and multiple Indigenous nations. Their music deals with decolonial living, red medicine, queerness, migrant empowerment, love and the reconstruction of the womyn temple. On November 7, Chhoti Maa released her 2nd studio album Caldo de Hueso with the support of Women’s Audio Mission and Joyful Noise.
About Breathless aka Honey B
Breathless aka Honey B is all Hip Hop, No Substitutions. An Emcee and a touring Artist, Breathless has visited stages all across the nation and internationally. Lyrical & Passionate. Honey B withholds years of experience as a professional in the business with a great reputation and work ethic. She received an Omaha Entertainment Award for Best Hip Hop/Rap artist, performed on The Warped Tour circuit, San Francisco Pride Main Stage, Oakland Pride (Womyns & Main Stage), rocked over 175 shows a year, charted on radio stations internationally and still has time to volunteer at women and youth organizations and schools. Breathless also does ghostwriting, voice over/on-air talent, and has co-founded an all-female art collective, Venus Rising Collective based in Oakland empowering and uplifting women around the world.
About DJ Kream
Bijou McDaniel (aka DJ Kream) is an Oakland native who is making a name for herself in the local scene with her signature genre mixing DJ style. After attending The Academy of Art in San Francisco and working various jobs from Visual Merchandiser to Non-profit Development Fundraiser, Bijou acted on one of her life-long passions and turned it into art form never looking back. Since her debut as DJ Kream, Bijou has curated grooves at nightclubs, art receptions, day parties, and corporate events.
About Jada Imani
Jada Imani is an MC and facilitator from the Bay by way of St. Louis. This past year Jada released a concept video and single called “Drip” available on Tatu Vision YouTube. As well as her debut EP “Thought U Knew” available on all streaming platforms. Jada began emceeing and curating events at the age of 15. Since then she’s curated for Oakland Museum of California, Life is Living Festival, Kaiser Permanente, Aspen Ideas Festival, and more. Jada’s aim is to use performance and healing arts to connect disparate populations to promote health, critical thinking, and self-love.
About Women’s Audio Mission
Women’s Audio Mission (WAM) is a San Francisco/Oakland-based nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women/girls in music production and the recording arts, a field in which women are critically underrepresented (< 5%). WAM uses music and media to attract 2,000+ women/girls a year to music engineering and recording arts studies/careers. WAM’s world-class recording studio is the only studio in the world built and run by women.
