First Fridays Are Free!

Every 1st Friday is a showcase of local bands who deserve your attention. The Uptown sponsors this show in our ongoing efforts to enrich Oakland’s arts and music scene. We encourage everyone to come out and support these musicians who are at the core of what has allowed Oakland to come up.

The Go Ahead is a four piece, high-energy rock band from San Francisco. They are known for their incredibly unique sound, pulling from influences such as Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Fiona Apple, and many more.

The buzz is deafening for the post-punk, disco-laden act. They’ve been featured on MTV’s “The Real World,” played at the Converse flagship store in SF, the Red Gorilla Fest in Austin, TX, and Bottle Rock Napa.
