On the first Friday of every month, The Uptown presents a FREE live music showcase that celebrates Bay Area artists and musicians. This 10-year-old event highlights bands who we believe deserve your attention.
February’s free first Friday showcase features San Francisco fuzzy indie-rockers The Love-Birds (Empty Cellar Records / Trouble In Mind), San Francisco jangly and melodic indiepop band Seablite (Death Records; former members of Wax Idols & Dirty Cupcakes), San Luis Obispo & Los Angeles garage pop duo Bearcats (Lost State Records / Frux Tapes), and local Oakland twee-punk favorites Horrible/Adorable (Hover Craft). DJ Poindexter will be spinning records between and after sets.
