Oakland Symphony invites you to experience Mixtape – an experimental, boundary-pushing, musical series curated exclusively for Oakland. We’re gathering our favorite local artists together in intimate venues to explore the sights, sounds and voices of our town in a mashup of genres that defies boundaries and creates new connections between artists and audience.

Mixtape, Vol 2: Soul Restoration is a celebration of the past and future of Oakland, curated by Oakland’s own celebrated educator and performer Kev Choice. Bringing together old school Oakland and today’s players on the scene with a unique Oakland Symphony vibe, Soul Restoration goes beyond the music – featuring poet and NAACP Image Award Nominee Prentice Powell accompanied by Oakland Symphony musicians. Featured musicians, founding member of Tony! Toni! Toné! D’Wayne Wiggins, frontwoman of The Seshen Lalin, and official DJ to the Golden State Warriors DJ D-Sharp come together at The Uptown on March 9 at 8pm to bring together past and future voices of The Town. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door, 21+ show with valid ID.
