Soul Vision Records Presents: Savage Mind – 1995 – Album Release

Bio: Born in the Philippines but raised in Pittsburg, CA, Savage Mind is an up-and-coming Bay Area based Jazz Musician turned rapper/producer. His style meshes smooth and soulful harmonies with the exhilarating bounce of G-funk and Boom Bap rap but with a Bay Area bounce. After graduation from UC Berkeley, he released his first project Soul as a summary of his years in college. He began rapping in 2013 and beat-making/producing in 2014. Influences include J.Cole, Mozzy, Caleborate, Elujay as well as Terrace Martin, Boogie, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, and Quincy Jones. He continues to collaborate with producers, artists, and creative people all around the East Bay and the greater Bay Area in general.

Album Info: 1995 is Savage Mind’s largest album debut release to date. With 15-tracks and 7 featured artists, his album explores a wide arrange of hip-hop sub-genres, maneuvering through elegant rhythmic and harmonic flurries simultaneously with the ferocity of booming 808s and piercing lyricism. 1995 is an ode to his birth year and generation but also content-wise, a manifestation of his working-class and immigrant struggles. The album is a shout for Savage Mind’s existence and a musical offering to his homies, heritage, and ancestry.
