Paufve| dance presents 8x8x8, featuring 8 contemporary dance works by 8 local choreographers, created for the Uptown stage. Paufve | dance created 8x8x8 as a way to bring the raw physicality and urban intelligence of modern dance out of the theater into spaces where dance-goers and those new to dance alike can convene.
From overgrown houses in north Oakland, Trails and Ways make guitar pop, thick with warm noise, driving beats, four voices, and the open chords of bossa nova. Debut album Pathology landed in 2015, earning the band a spot on Barsuk Records and São Paulo's Balaclava Records, and launching the band to shows across North America and Brazil.

It's a big, queer Hanukkah party with live music, Jewish drag queens, comedians, and more. As we grapple with the tragedy of the Ghost Ship fire, we hope this joyful gathering can be a source of light in a dark time. We will be taking donations at the door to benefit the Trans Assistance Project fund for Oakland Ghost Ship Fire.
