Funky Thursdays is the first Thursdays of the month residency for Trace Repeat, Motown-inspired soul and funk band from Oakland with nods to James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince.
For the past 11 years, The Uptown has hosted a free showcase of bands we feel deserve your attention. This month includes Shark Punch, Lucky Eejits, and Elderly Abuse. Doors open at 5pm for Happy Hour; first band goes on at 9pm.

She will be playing with her full band. Mark Nelsen is a singer-songwriter who often performs as Quiet Domino. DJ Matokie of KALX will be spinning records between sets.
