First Fridays Are Free! June's free first Friday showcase features Oakland industrial metal outfit Suicide Queen, Santa Cruz bluesy hard rock band The Bad Light, San Francisco indie rockers Greater Sirens, and new rock band Electric Plume making their Oakland debut.
First Fridays are free! An 11-year-old free showcase featuring some of the best local acts on the first Friday of every month. This month features San Francisco alternative pop band Dangermaker, Oakland power pop outfit Matadore, melodic lo-fi Oakland act Rollin Hand, and Oakland psychedelic rock / alternative hip hop group Unlikely Heroes.
First Fridays are Free! For the past decade The Uptown has presented a Free First Friday showcase of mostly local artists we believe deserve your attention. This month features San Jose mod band The Odd Numbers, blues rock / genre bending outfit Flexx Bronco, raw and psychotic punk band Rock and Roll Adventure Kids, and goth surf band Harriot. Plus KALX DJs Jesse Luscious & Annabelle. No cover.

This month features independent singer-songwriter Tyler Jakes, East Bay ska band Shark Punch, Bay Area prog-pop unit Catchlight, and San Francisco alt-pop outfit Errors.
Art Is Women reception, featuring plum dada and lesser gods art, + vinyl sets by KALX DJs Matokie and Poindexter! Doors open for happy hour at 5pm. KALX DJs go on at 9pm.
